Job description

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance of the Conroe Fire Department Fire Training Facility (FTF), equipment and training props.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in general maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Special Requirements:

Possession of a valid class C Texas driver's license or higher required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of construction techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems.
• Skill in working with small engine troubleshooting/repair.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to safely operate a utility type vehicle.
• Ability to safely operate chain saws, power tools and lawn equipment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, handling, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, and standing.
