Job Details

Base pay range: $12.00/hr - $15.00/hr

Classification: Non-Career/Continuing Part-time

Pay rate: $12.00 - $15.00

Work schedule: Varies, 19 hours per week

Job Duties
  • Transport clients to various locations such as medical facilities, grocery stores, shopping centers, hairdressers, etc., according to a set schedule.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, report repairs, and gas the vehicle daily.
  • Monitor passenger counts and demographics.
  • Drive scheduled routes for the city and contracted services.
  • Conduct trips for day camps, dining outings, casinos, Parks and Recreation, and city hall.
  • Take vehicles for repairs at the Round House in Southfield and SMART in Troy.
  • Check email daily and communicate with supervisors via email.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and notify supervisors of maintenance needs.
  • Write incident reports as needed.
  • Be flexible and capable of multitasking.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 21.
  • Valid Michigan CDL with Group C and P endorsement preferred.
  • Valid Chauffeur's License.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and background checks.
  • Current CPR card.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and secure wheelchair tie-downs.
  • Manual operation of wheelchair lift when needed.
  • Pass drug testing and criminal background checks.
