Job summary

Clarke County School District seeks an Equitable Services Math Tutor for the Downtown Academy in Athens, GA. The role provides math tutoring, supervises students, and assists with planning and conducting student activities.

Reporting to the Head of School, the tutor will screen materials, maintain records, attend staff meetings, and uphold safety and professional standards. A BA in Education or related coursework is preferred and citizenship/residency is required.

Qualifications

• BA degree preferred or coursework in Education or specific reading programs

Responsibilities

• Supports instruction and supervision for assigned students.
• Assists in screening and selecting material and equipment for program use.
• Assists in maintaining assigned records.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Models appropriate behavior.
• Monitors for student safety by recognizing potentially dangerous situations.
• Maintains a pleasant and professional attitude with staff, students, and parents.
• Employs a variety of behavior management techniques.
• Respects the cultures and values of families in the program.
