Job summary

The Salvation Army thrift store is seeking a part-time Sales Associate in Kansas. You will ring up purchases, price merchandise, stock displays, and assist customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and be comfortable handling cash, operating a register, and working as part of a team. The role supports the Salvation Army mission and maintains store cleanliness and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to present information one-on-one to customers and employees.
• Ability to use basic office equipment including cash register, copy machine, fax, and telephone.
• Ability to add/subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
• Ability to perform operations using U.S. currency.
• Ability to understand and follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Process merchandise efficiently following store standards.
• Price unmarked items of merchandise.
• Hang clothing as instructed.
• Stock racks, shelves, counters or tables with merchandise.
• Ring up purchases for customers.
• Operate cash register and accept payments and make change.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Help set up displays to promote sales.
• Maintain good customer relations and provide courteous assistance.
