Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a part-time retail associate to maintain the thrift store at a standard operating level and perform daily duties. You will stock shelves, assist with pricing, process merchandise, and provide courteous customer service while upholding the mission.

High school diploma or GED is expected, with retail or cash register experience preferred but not required. You will work up to 29 hours per week with a rate of $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong independent judgment for daily decision-making.
• Must pass all background checks and Safe from Harm training within 90 days.
• Retail or cash register experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keep shelves and racks full and organized to promote sales.
• Assist management with pricing items for sale as needed.
• Process merchandise efficiently according to standards.
• Stock racks, shelves, counters with merchandise daily.
• Learn and train on the processing system, including cash register.
• Maintain a clean store environment including shelves and tables.
