Hope Forest Academy / Rite of Passage is seeking a part‑time clinician to provide individual, family and group therapy for adolescents in a residential setting. You will document contacts, maintain clinical files, and update training materials as required while ensuring safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, transporting clients when needed, and preparing progress notes and discharge summaries.

Qualifications

  • One year of prior residential therapy experience with adolescent offenders.
  • Must have a valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record (3 years).
  • Ability to pass criminal background clearance, drug screen, physical and TB test.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work >40 hours weekly and manage multiple priorities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and strong organization.
  • Proficient with computers and basic software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides individual, family and group therapy as indicated by program needs.

2. Documents all therapy and contacts with clients and other service providers.

3. Maintains clients’ clinical files in a timely and orderly fashion.

4. Maintains the Clinical Training Manual in a timely and orderly fashion, if applicable.

5. Provides crisis intervention as needed. Ensures documentation is completed.

6. Transports clients for therapeutic services when needed.

7. Prepares monthly progress notes, staffing reports, plans and discharge summaries.

9. Ensures the safety, health and welfare of staff and students at all times.

10. Provides encouragement, guidance and resources to staff and students when needed.

11. Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise.

12. Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students.

13. Treats others with respect, confronts negative behavior and supports confrontations.

14. Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner, provides management with required

reports and advises of any problematic situations.

15. Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate

manuals/handbooks.

16. Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to

ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and Rite of Passage policies and

procedures.

17. Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.

18. Attends and participates in all required meetings.

19. Commits to attending all training and staff development classes in order to ensure sufficient hours of

training on an annual basis. Notifies supervisor if annual training hours are deficient.

20. Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form to meet the needs of the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. One year of prior experience working in a residential setting with adolescent offenders, their families and the Juvenile Justice System. 2. Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years. 3. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test. 4. Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects. 5. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence. 6. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. 7. Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing. 8. Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with the possibility of a varied schedule. 9. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 10. Must have excellent organization and time management skills. 11. Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships. 12. Ability to provide exemplary customer service to all employees and outside constituents. 13. Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment. 14. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions. 15. Proficient in the use of computers and associated software.
