Job summary

Achieve is seeking a part-time Therapeutic Recreation Support Professional in Broome County, NY. The role includes planning, implementing, and overseeing recreation activities within the Recreation Respite Program and other agency programs.

Responsibilities include creating calendars, facilitating activities, transporting participants, and ensuring safety and equipment maintenance. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required or preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some direct experience working with individuals with functional differences preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a driving record meeting the agency’s insurance carrier guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee the Recreation Respite Program and related recreation activities.
• Research activities, prepare calendars, provide supplies, and facilitate programming for Day Habilitation and Residential programs.
• Foster independent leisure activities by providing tools and resources.
• Ensure recreation equipment and supplies are stored and maintained.
• Assist with creating program calendars and transport participants to activities as needed.
• Support adherence to the American Therapeutic Recreation Standards of Practice.
• Provide supervision and direct care to participants and report health and safety incidents.
