Job summary

Amrize North America is seeking a Part Time Terminal Operator at Buffalo Terminal NY to safely operate location equipment and ensure accurate loading and unloading of boats, trucks and bulk materials.

Responsibilities include maintaining grounds and facilities, handling paperwork, operating loading equipment and recording receipts and inventory. 1–3 years of experience and a High School diploma/GED are expected, with strict safety and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of work experience in a terminal/industrial setting.
  • Must be able to complete paperwork.
  • Mechanical background and welding experience desirable.
  • Autonomous, meticulous with good judgment.
  • Ability to work with customers and follow safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of cement/construction industry is a plus.
  • Compliance with PPE and respirator policies.

Responsibilities

  • Load/unload material for rail, waterway, and road transport as applicable.
  • Operate truck loading equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance on terminal equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH


  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.

  • Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, for rail, waterway, and roadmethods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.

  • Understand and operate truck loading equipment.

  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with generalmechanical maintenance.

  • Sample product from trucks and barges following company policies.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.

  • Perform clerical functions following the established guidelines for the recording of receipts, shipments and inventory records.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit thesebehaviors.

  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School diploma/GED


Required Work Experience: 1-3 years


Additional Requirements


  • Must be able to complete paperwork

  • Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirable

  • Autonomous, meticulous, good judgment

  • Courteous with customers

  • Attestation on any kind of training an asset

  • Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an asset

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
