Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Must be able to complete paperwork.
• Mechanical background and welding experience are desirable.
• Autonomous, meticulous with good judgment.
• Customer-friendly and courteous.
• Knowledge of cement and the construction industry is a plus.
• Adherence to health, safety and PPE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate all terminal equipment at the Buffalo location for loading/unloading vessels and trucks.
• Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse and yard.
• Handle loading/unloading of bulk and bagged materials via rail, waterway and road.
• Operate truck loading equipment and perform basic maintenance on mobile equipment.
• Collect product samples from trucks and barges per policy.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, shipments and inventory.
• Follow safety policies and promote a safety culture.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.


• Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, for rail, waterway, and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.


• Understand and operate truck loading equipment.


• Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.


• Sample product from trucks and barges following company policies.


• Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.


• Perform clerical functions following the established guidelines for the recording of receipts, shipments and inventory records.


• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


• Other duties as assigned.

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
