Community First Bank is seeking a Bank Teller in Broussard, LA to provide exceptional customer service while processing deposits, withdrawals, and other routine banking transactions.

The role involves cash handling, balance duties, and promoting Bank products. A credit check is required for employment and candidates may travel locally to support branches. This position is on-site and requires reliability and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Accept deposits, loan payments, credit card payments, and process checking/savings withdrawals.
• Cash checks and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
• Balance cash drawer per Bank procedures and regulations.
• Process credit card cash advances.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash.
• Answer customer inquiries and refer to the proper personnel as needed.
• Provide products such as Official Checks, Money Orders, and redemption of savings bonds.
• May be responsible for bank opening and closing.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information and promote Bank products and services.
• Represent the Bank to maintain positive relations with customers and coworkers.
• Meet attendance and punctuality expectations; contribute to department goals.
• Comply with all policies and regulations; perform other duties as assigned.

Summary/objective

Bank tellers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service including efficient and accurate transaction processing.

Essential Functions

• Accept retail and/or commercial deposits, loan payments, credit card payments, process checking and savings account withdrawals.
• Cash Checks
• Maintain an adequate cash drawer at all times; this includes buying and selling currency from the vault as necessary.
• Balance cash drawer in accordance with Bank procedures and regulations.
• Process credit card cash advances.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash.
• Answer customer inquiries and refer customers to the proper personnel for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
• Provide additional products including Official Checks, Money Orders and redemption of savings bonds
• May be responsible for bank opening and/or closing.
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
• Promotes the bank’s products and services.
• Represent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers and co-workers.
• Meet expectations for attendance & punctuality.
• Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
• Comply with all department and company policies, procedures and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical demands

Travel Required

Travel within 50 miles from your assigned location may be necessary on occasion.

Saturday Banking

Would be required to work a rotating Saturday schedule either in New Iberia and/or Broussard.
