Job summary

Community First Bank (New Iberia, LA) is seeking a customer-focused teller to handle deposits, withdrawals, and payments while maintaining an accurate cash drawer and confidentiality.

You will travel between branch locations to fill in for absentee tellers; GOOD CREDIT IS A MUST and CREDIT REPORT IS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT. Rotation includes Saturdays in New Iberia or Broussard.

Responsibilities

• Accept deposits, loan payments, credit card payments, withdrawals.
• Cash checks and maintain a balanced cash drawer per procedures.
• Distribute cash from vault and handle currency transactions.
• Process credit card cash advances and related tasks.
• Assist in cash order, receipt, verification and distribution.
• Answer inquiries and refer complex issues to appropriate personnel.
• Offer Official Checks, Money Orders and savings bond redemption.
• May handle bank opening/closing and maintain confidentiality.

Summary/objective

Performs a variety of duties to provide customer services by paying and receiving monies and keeping accurate records of all transactions. Travels between all branch locations to fill in for absentee tellers. This position reports to the Teller Supervisor.

Essential functions

• Accept retail and/or commercial deposits, loan payments, credit card payments, process checking and savings account withdrawals.


• Cash Checks


• Maintain an adequate cash drawer at all times; this includes buying and selling currency from the vault as necessary.


• Balance cash drawer in accordance with Bank procedures and regulations.


• Process credit card cash advances.


• Assist in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash.


• Answer customer inquiries and refer customers to the proper personnel for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.


• Provide additional products including Official Checks, Money Orders and redemption of savings bonds


• May be responsible for bank opening and/or closing.


• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.


• Promotes the bank’s products and services.


• Represent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers and co-workers.


• Meet expectations for attendance & punctuality.


• Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.


• Comply with all department and company policies, procedures and regulations.

Work environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Travel is required

Would be required to work a rotating Saturday schedule either in New Iberia and/or Broussard.
