Job description

Overview:

This role specializes in enhancing our branch customer experience through digital engagement, lobby management, transactional processing, and retail servicing interactions. The employee will process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Adhere to established customer service standards and provide a differentiated experience by understanding customer needs and delivering solutions in key moments.
  2. Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations; identify self-service opportunities that meet customer needs.
  3. Actively engage in lobby management, greet customers proactively, and address their immediate needs.
  4. Accurately balance and process customer transactions following bank policies.
  5. Take ownership of escalated account issues until resolution; log all customer complaints accurately.
  6. Transition sales opportunities to appropriate banking partners.
  7. Complete operational activities such as cash ordering, vault management, ATM, and wire transfers.
  8. Process customer and account maintenance accurately.
  9. Complete AML, BSA, and KYC activities.
  10. Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls per standards and policies.
  11. Promote an environment of belonging that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  12. Maintain internal control standards and address audit and regulatory issues promptly.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional service, resolve routine problems promptly, and exemplify empathy, customer-centricity, flexibility, digital fluency, entrepreneurial spirit, and critical thinking. Collaborate within the bank to resolve operational issues efficiently and stay current on operational changes to support risk management and loss prevention.

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education and Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least 6 months of customer service experience, including data entry or cash handling.
  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient with internet and basic technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual skills based on branch needs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Prolonged use of hands and fingers.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 5-30 lbs.
  • Ability to read fine print.
  • Ability to interact face-to-face with customers.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.88 per hour. Compensation will depend on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
