Responsibilities include providing a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person and through the mail, such as processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances. The role involves balancing each day's transactions, verifying cash totals, and actively cross-selling Credit Union services. The Teller serves members promptly and professionally, assuming responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Credit Union courteously and professionally.
- Receive share deposits and loan payments.
- Process cash advances, cashiers' checks, money orders, gift cards, and discount tickets.
- Disburse cash or check share withdrawals.
- Process transfers and verify transactions, monitor deposit amounts, examine documents for endorsement and negotiability, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Balance daily transactions, verify cash totals, and investigate out-of-balance conditions.
- Maintain the Credit Union's professional reputation and member privacy.
- Actively cross-sell Credit Union products and services.
Additional Duties:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with area personnel and management.
- Assist area personnel as required and keep supervisors informed of activities and concerns.
- Complete reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Attend meetings as required.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform drive-up service and night drop functions as assigned.
- Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
- Perform related clerical duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Teller operations and procedures.
- Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
- At least six months of cash handling experience.
- Good communication and math skills.
- Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment, including adding machines, copy machines, coin and money counting machines, and telephones.
- Good typing skills.
