Summary/Objective
The Bank Teller will complete deposits, withdrawals, and other financial interactions accurately and timely while providing excellent customer service to all customers. All job duties will be performed following bank policies and procedures and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act.
Responsibilities
- Cashes checks and disburses funds after verifying signatures and sufficiency of funds to support withdrawals and completing Hold Notices as necessary.
- Accepts deposits, confirming accuracy of transaction.
- Accept loan payments; verify payment amount, and issue receipts.
- Prepares, verifies, and issues cashier’s checks, bank and personal money orders, travelers checks, E-bonds, and correspondent drafts.
- Enters transactions in bank’s recordkeeping system, recording all transactions and producing customer receipts.
- Evaluates checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names and overall legality of the documents.
- Maintain appropriate currency logs daily and monthly.
- Balances all monies in cash drawers periodically and at the end of shifts.
- Identify counterfeit currency.
- Accepts and counts inventories of cash, drafts, and travelers checks each day.
- Maintain a work area that is properly supplied.
- Ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records.
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller till cash limits are not exceeded.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent math skills.
- Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity, as well as maintain confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of customer service, including the ability to prioritize and make on-the-spot decisions.
- Good organizational skills.
Education, Training & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous cash handling experience preferred.
- Prior customer service experience.
Working Conditions
- Able to stand for extensive periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Frequent talking and listening and constant judgment and concentration.
- May be required to work in another branch on occasion.
Hours
Available Monday – Thursday 7:30 am to 5:15 pm; Friday 7:30 am – 6:15 pm and most Saturdays from 7:30 am – 12 pm. Will be scheduled up to, but no more than 30 hours per week.
