Job summary

Listerhill Credit Union in Tennessee is seeking a teller to provide accurate cash handling and member service at the Columbia branch. You will process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and maintain records with our core processor while upholding security and accuracy.

Responsibilities include promoting credit union products, balancing cash drawers, and ensuring excellent member experiences. A high school diploma and one year of office or teller experience are preferred.

• Receive payments and generate member receipts.
• Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
• Count, check, and package coins and currency.
• Ensure teller station is stocked with forms and supplies.
• Report malfunctions of teller terminals and equipment.
• Balance cash drawer and report discrepancies.

Overview: Listerhill Credit Union is a financial cooperative whose primary purpose is to help our members live financially healthy lives. In 1952, seven Reynolds Metals employees deposited $5 each with the idea of starting a credit union that was member-owned and member-focused. Helping co-workers break from predatory lenders to borrow affordably and save for their financial futures, was their motivation. We have grown from a single office at Reynolds Metals to 18 branches throughout northwest Alabama and south-central Tennessee. Today, we serve 13 counties with a full line of financial solutions. You will provide basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union procedures.

What you will do:

• Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit into accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into our core processor
• Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; disburse funds upon verification of signatures and member balances
• Promote and explain other credit union services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, certificates, safe deposit boxes, official checks, and money orders.
• Receive mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments and ensure the payments match balances due. Upon entering the correct information, must generate member receipts
• Place proper holds on accounts for uncollected funds
• Count, check, and package coins and other currency
• Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
• Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station
• Check night depository bags and record proper information on the pertinent forms
• Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated balance sheets. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of general office experience or one-year teller experience with another financial intuition preferred
• Must possess a professional demeanor
• Must communicate well verbally and in writing
• Must pass a validated teller test
• May need access on your personal mobile device to log into our network for specific task.
• Must successfully complete appropriate LCU assessments
