Job summary

The Boys’ Club of New York Inc in New York is seeking a part-time Music Production Teacher to lead a teen-focused course in studio setup, recording and sound manipulation.

You will guide students through using studio gear and software, create a final project, and help develop technical skills while fostering creativity in a supportive after-school program.

Experience with music production tools and basic pedagogy is preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary training, college credits, or 6–12 months related experience.
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership ability.
• Associate’s degree (A.A) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach members how to set up a studio
• Teach members how to use studio equipment
• Teach members the basics of recording and manipulating sound
• Teach members how to use virtual sounds and implement their use in their recordings
• Teach members how to mix sounds to create a finished product
• Create and present a final project based on what they have learned
