Job Description:This position is part of a team of department technologists who provide assistance to students and faculty. This position will distribute photography equipment and related materials to students and faculty during class hours and open studio. Routine responsibilities include regular inspection for damaged and proper function, minor repairs of equipment and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Technologists are expected to maintain a working knowledge of all equipment available through the department. They must communicate and reinforce all protocols and procedures for borrowing and use of equipment to students and instructors. Applicants should expect to respond to general questions regarding usage of equipment, materials and facilities. This is a customer service position.
Responsibilities:- Distribute and accept return of photography equipment and related materials to students.
- Conduct routine inspections before and after use.
- Respond to basic questions on usage of equipment and materials.
- Track availability of equipment through supplied tracking software.
- Assure equipment is returned to proper location; maintain condition of equipment room.
- Assist Students and faculty in choosing appropriate equipment or alternative equipment when first choice is unavailable.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:- High School diploma and 3-5 years of appropriate experience.
- Must be proficient in use of current photography equipment and personal computers and possess the ability to communicate their use and techniques succinctly.
Preferred Qualifications:- Associate's degree in photography and three years of current photographic experience.
- Experience in a rental studio or Photography equipment house is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:- Candidates must be familiar with safe and appropriate use of photographic equipment and related computer systems and software.
- Ability to respond to basic questions regarding the use of photography equipment.
- Ability to maintain photo equipment in proper working condition.
- Ability to comprehend written or verbal requests, decipher the needs and consider equipment available to meet the request.

SalarySalary Range: $32.95 - $35.28 per hour
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring Rate: $32.95 - $35.28 per hour with step increments per Salary Schedule 89, after 18 months of service and annually thereafter.
Work ScheduleDays/Hours: M-F, 18 hours per week, evenings and weekends required; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.

Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThe working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, frequent standing, constant bending, frequent walking, and occasional lifting 50 lbs. or more.
