Job summary

Aspire Early Learning Academy is seeking a part-time Preschool Teacher at our West Columbia Academy. We offer 4 to 6 hours per day of part-time work.

Ideal for college students, retirees, or moms seeking part-time hours. We are looking for caring, dependable, enthusiastic teachers who genuinely love working with children under the age of five and who can create engaging learning experiences while building trusting relationships.

Qualifications

• Understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation, and classroom supervision guidelines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
• Ability to positively guide children's behavior and mediate conflicts.
• Patient, friendly, dependable, professional, and even-tempered.
• Creative and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Background checks: Central Registry, SLED, and FBI.
• ECD 101 course completion or willingness to complete within six months; company will pay.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using storytelling, educational play, music, and media.
• Observe each child and support the development of social skills, independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Encourage children to interact positively with one another and develop healthy relationships.
• Support children's artistic, creative, academic, and practical development through age-appropriate activities.
• Follow the classroom schedule and actively supervise children to ensure safety and well-being.
• Follow the curriculum and lesson plans provided by Aspire Early Learning Academy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom consistent with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate professionally with co-workers and administration.
• Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Work effectively as part of a small teaching team.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, supported, and excited to learn.

Aspire Early Learning Academy is currently accepting applications for part-time Preschool Teachers at our West Columbia Academy. We offer 4 to 6 hours per day of part-time work. Ideal for college students, retirees, or moms seeking part-time hours.

We are looking for caring, dependable, enthusiastic teachers who genuinely love working with children under the age of five. The ideal candidate understands best practices in early childhood education and can create engaging learning experiences while building trusting, positive relationships with young children.

Our teachers play an important role in supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while helping prepare them for a successful transition to kindergarten.

Teacher Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using a variety of teaching techniques, including storytelling, educational play, music, and media.
• Observe each child and support the development of social skills, independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Encourage children to interact positively with one another and develop healthy relationships.
• Support children's artistic, creative, academic, and practical development through age-appropriate activities, including identifying shapes, numbers, colors, crafts, and other learning experiences.
• Follow the classroom schedule and actively supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Follow the curriculum and lesson plans provided by Aspire Early Learning Academy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom consistent with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate professionally and effectively with co-workers and administration.
• Follow all applicable DSS, DHEC, and Aspire Early Learning Academy policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Work effectively as part of a small teaching team.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, supported, and excited to learn.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation, and classroom supervision guidelines.

• Successful completion of required Central Registry, SLED, and FBI background checks.
• Completion of ECD 101 or willingness to complete the course within six months of employment. The company will pay for the required course.
