Job summary
Sarasota Sharks, Inc. is seeking a part-time Swim School Instructor to conduct group and private swim lessons. This role involves teaching swimmers of all ages and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. Qualifications include current CPR/AED and first-aid certifications, and successful completion of the ASCASwimAmerica™Online Coaches Course within 30 days. The position offers opportunities for professional development and free monthly swim memberships.
Qualifications
- Must complete and pass the ASCASwimAmerica™Online Coaches Course within 30 days of hire.
- Must have current CPR/AED and first-aid certifications or the ability to acquire them within 30 days.
- Must be 16 years of age or older (15 years with lifeguard certification).
- Previous swimming or instructional experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct group and private swim lessons in a safe, supportive environment.
- Maintain communication with the Site Supervisor regarding program issues.
- Respond to emergencies, injuries, and illnesses as they arise.
- Set up and clean up lesson equipment and pool configuration.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with children
Ability to respond to emergencies
Strong interest in teaching children
Education
Current CPR/AED and first-aid certifications
