Job summary

The Metro YMCA of the Oranges in Livingston, NJ seeks a part-time Swim Lesson Instructor to deliver engaging classes for up to 12 children, in-water instruction, and safe, structured lessons.

Ideal candidates are 16+, know various strokes, hold or will obtain YSL or American Red Cross certification within year, and bring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Competitive hourly pay is $18.93.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of various swim strokes and teaching levels.
• Strong vocal ability to project instruction clearly during lessons.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Must achieve YSL or American Red Cross certification within 1st year of teaching swim lessons.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lesson classes in the water for every session.
• Instruct up to 12 children and ensure safety during lessons.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
• Keep accurate attendance and class records up-to-date.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
