SUPPORTIVE STEPS SERVICES INC seeks a Supervisor of AST & ABA Services to lead clinical oversight and administrative supervision for RBTs and AST Tutors. You will ensure treatments align with plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with BCBA for program fidelity.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, psychology, social work, ABA, counseling, rehabilitation, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience providing ABA or AST services.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or training direct-care staff preferred.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities in home, community, or educational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing clinical and administrative supervision to RBTs and AST Tutors to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Job Summary:

The Supervisor of AST & ABA Services plays a key leadership role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality ABA and AST services that reflect the organization’s mission of supporting individuals with special needs in developing everyday life skills, building confidence, and gaining independence at home, in public, and within their communities. This position provides structured clinical and administrative oversight to RBTs and AST Tutors, ensuring treatment fidelity, regulatory compliance, and adherence to best practices. The Supervisor collaborates closely with families, Regional Centers, and interdisciplinary teams to create real-world opportunities for growth and inclusion, enabling each person to thrive with dignity. Through effective supervision, staff development, and quality assurance, the Supervisor promotes a consistent, client-centered service model that advances meaningful progress and upholds organizational values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight & Service Delivery
  • Provide ongoing clinical and administrative supervision to RBT and AST Tutors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure all services are implemented in accordance with individualized treatment plans, evidence-based practices, and agency policies.
  • Monitor client progress through data review, direct observation, and formal assessments; make program adjustments and recommendations as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments and prepare accurate, timely assessments and progress reports.
  • Address concerns related to service delivery or client needs promptly and professionally to support positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with BCBA to support the successful implementation of client programs and ensure treatment fidelity.
Staff Training, Development & Performance Management
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and ongoing support to RBT and AST Tutors.
  • Conduct performance oversight to ensure treatment fidelity, adherence to agency standards, and professional conduct.
  • Identify and address staff performance concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Ensure staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and required timelines.
Client, Family & Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Collaborate with families, interdisciplinary teams, and external agencies to coordinate services and support client progress.
  • Participate in IPP meetings and other client-centered planning meetings to ensure alignment of goals and services.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Regional Centers, including preparing required reports, attending meetings, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistent, timely communication with social workers, families, and other stakeholders to support continuity of care.
Compliance, Documentation & Quality Assurance
  • Maintain compliance with all documentation, billing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential records related to clients, supervision, and service delivery.
  • Submit reports, documentation, and required follow-ups within established timelines and organizational expectations.
  • Participate in team meetings, quality assurance activities, and service-planning initiatives to support continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Support scheduling, caseload management, and service coverage to ensure continuity and efficiency of services.
  • Communicate effectively with administrative leadership, supervisory staff, and the C-Suite team to support program operations and organizational goals.
  • Assist with operational coordination and communication to promote effective program functioning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related human services field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience providing ABA or AST services.
  • Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or training direct-care staff strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in home, community, or educational settings.
  • Experience with regional center & SDP billing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles, behavior intervention strategies, and data collection methods.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
