Job summary

Chicago Jewish Day School (CJDS) is seeking reliable Part-Time Substitute Teachers to support classrooms from Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade, on an on-call basis. Substitutes will collaborate with teaching teams to ensure continuity of the classroom experience during teacher absences.

Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, monitoring student behavior, and communicating updates to school leadership as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in a classroom setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to follow written lesson plans and support students in staying on task.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
