Job summary

Kennebec Valley Chamber-CMMRC is seeking a part-time substitute teacher to cover 5-10 hours per week, with potential to increase hours and become permanent. The role emphasizes a down-to-earth, collaborative team and a family-friendly environment.

Eligible applicants may receive a monthly Salary Supplement between $280-$540 after registration with Maine Roads to Quality, with a requirement to work at least one hour per month in childcare to qualify.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and working toward a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience with school-age children in a home or center setting.
• CPR/First Aid Training with in-person assessment and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for children and support daily activities and routines under supervisor input.
• Maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with Maine DHHS rules.
• Assist or independently implement activities and manage safety practices.
