General Summary
The Substitute Librarian is an entry level professional position with the Pearl River Public Library.
This is a substitute position and is scheduled as follows: Tuesday 3-9pm, Thursday 3-9pm, Saturday and Sunday rotations (Approximately 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday) hours are a max amount of 17.5 hours; Librarians in this position provide high-quality customer services to the library’s diverse clientele. Duties may include a wide variety of potential assignments serving Adults Services Department. Assignments include public services (reference, reader’s advisory, and collection development).

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of basic library principles, trends, functions, and procedures and knowledge and understanding of issues and requirements of the specific library program assigned.
Skill in using technology and aiding users.

TRAINING: Master’s degree in Library Science required.
