Position Summary:The Student Transportation Driver is responsible for operating a shuttle drive on assigned regular routes, ensuring timely, safe, and professional transportation services for students. Drivers must provide excellent customer service, enjoy working with children, comply with safety standards, and maintain the company’s high reputation as a leader in transportation.Key Responsibilities:Regular Route Operation:Operate assigned transportation vehicle, sedan or SUV, on pre-determined routes, ensuring adherence to schedules.Pick up and drop off students at designated stops safely and on time.Communicate schedule changes, delays, or disruptions promptly to dispatch.Customer Service:Greet students warmly, assist with boarding and exiting, and address inquiries professionally.Provide clear information about stops, schedules, and policies when asked.Maintain a courteous and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive passenger experience.Safety Compliance:Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy.Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws as well as company safety policies.Ensure passenger safety by monitoring proper seating and use of safety equipment.Vehicle Care and Maintenance:Keep the shuttle vehicle clean and presentable at all times.Monitor fuel, oil, and other fluids, and refuel as needed to avoid disruptions.Report maintenance issues, wear-and-tear, or any incidents to the operations team promptly.Operational Coordination:Maintain communication with dispatch for updates, route changes, or emergencies.Assist in rerouting or adapting service as required during unexpected events such as traffic delays.Log trips, mileage, and incidents accurately using company systems.Qualifications & Skills:Licenses/Certifications:Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or C with School Bus (S) endorsement.Clean driving record and adherence to company drug and alcohol policies.Experience:Experience driving school buses or shuttle buses on regular routes is preferred.Skills:Strong knowledge of traffic laws and driving safety practices.Enjoy working with children and providing safe, reliable transportation for themFamiliarity with navigation tools and route scheduling.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.Capability to assist passengers with mobility needs and handle luggage when required.Work Schedule:Operate on regular, assigned routes.Split Shift available with potentially additional work hours in between shifts.Must be available for shifts, including mornings, and evenings.Compensation & Benefits:Competitive hourly pay, based on experience and route complexity.Benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off (specifics provided during hiring).Professional uniforms and ongoing paid training programs.Why Work with A-1 Limousine Inc.?A-1 Limousine Inc. offers a supportive and professional work environment for drivers passionate about delivering top-tier transportation services.
