Job summary

Prince George’s Christian Academy (PGCA) is seeking a Before & After School Driver in Landover, MD for a regular part-time schedule, mornings and afternoons. The role involves shuttling students between PGCA Upper School and Lower School and transporting them from public schools for aftercare, following strict timetables.

You will drive multi-passenger vehicles, report maintenance issues, ensure safety, and keep trip reports.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 1 year of experience driving or working with children aged 5–12.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Cdl license is required.
• No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years.
• Clean driving record in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and drop off students at scheduled locations, following strict time schedules.
• Drive multi-passenger vehicles to transport students between public schools and PGCA Upper and Lower School and/or school activities.
• Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations.
• Check the condition of vehicle tires, brakes, lights, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
• Comply with traffic regulations and operate vehicles safely and courteously.
• Ensure student safety during boarding, exiting, and crossing streets.
• Navigate routes using maps and verbal directions.
• Regulate vehicle temperature and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
• Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety.
• Prepare and submit reports on passenger trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and fares received.
