Olive-Harvey College is seeking a part-time Student Mentor in the Project Evolve department to support students and staff. Mentors connect students with campus resources, plan social events, host and moderate virtual spaces, visit classes, and communicate via text, phone, and Zoom.

The role requires at least 16 years old, work eligibility in the United States, enrollment in CCC, and a minimum 2.0 GPA. The position is at-will and pays $17.00/hr in a student worker capacity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED
• Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago resources and services; knowledge of the specific major/program
• Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ease in relating to people from diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated good study techniques and skills
• Knowledge of computer software programs

Responsabilités

• Advise, guide, and serve as a role model for other students transitioning to college life
• Explain CCC systems and help students access college resources
• Provide information on study techniques and organizational skills to support transition
• Meet with mentees twice per month to set and work toward goals
• Advocate for mentees and attend required mentor trainings
• Record observations and submit reports to supervisor
• Adhere to Customer Service Standards
