Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is hiring for re-opening support roles. This temporary, part-time position involves supervising students who are learning in person, assisting staff, and handling light duties as needed for a safe return to school.

Responsibilities include health screenings, technology assistance, and enforcing safety protocols. Positions pay $15 per hour, run about 6.75 hours per day with an unpaid 45-minute lunch, and are not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications

• Supervise students who are learning in person or assist staff when teachers remote
• Provide basic technology help (e.g., CPS app logins) to students
• Contact parents and students as needed
• Conduct health screening for students at entrance
• Monitor social distancing in classrooms, halls, and bathrooms
• Enforce mask wearing protocols and CPS health & safety rules
• Assist with other non-instructional tasks as assigned

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in person when needed or as classrooms remote
• Assist in-person staff with supervision and student support
• Help students with CPS app logins and basic tech questions
• Deliver supplies or equipment to classrooms or offices
• Coordinate contact with parents and students as required
• Support recess and lunch supervision and safety
• Monitor and enforce social distancing and safety guidelines
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols across school areas
• Perform other non-instructional duties as assigned
