The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student for JD Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

• Provide support to the Quality Engineering team at John Deere, learning what it takes to be a Quality Engineer at John Deere.
• Utilize existing data and technology in support of team objectives.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams - operations, quality, material flow, design, and others - to drive concurrent engineering.

This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

• Pursing a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline.
• Ability to work 16-20 hours weekly during the academic year.
• Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester.
• Strong communication skills.
• Well organized with effective time management skills.
• Graduation date Spring of 2026 or later.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with Python and SQL programming languages.
• Strong proficiency within the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization.
• Experience with Power Bi, Tableau, Minitab, Databricks, and/or Alteryx.
