Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Part Time Student for Product Engineering in Waterloo, IA. This onsite role supports engine certification processes, exempt label analysis, and project execution while aligning with a student schedule.

You will maintain tools, produce department communications, and learn company policies. Ideal candidates are pursuing MIS/Engineering/Technology/Networking/Business degrees, registered full-time students, and available for 10–40 hours weekly depending on term.

Qualifications

  • Be a full-time student enrolled at a local accredited university.
  • Graduation date May 2028 or later.
  • GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Available to work 10–20 hours/week during the academic year.
  • Available to work 16–40 hours/week during the summer semester.

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full‑time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

What Skills You Need
  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, Networking, Business; others encouraged to apply
  • Must be registered as a full‑time student at a local accredited University
  • Graduation date of May 2028 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 10-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 16-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, IA on a daily basis year‑round
  • Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior standing students are preferred, Senior standing and those pursuing Advanced degrees may apply.
