The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student - Product Engineer for John Deere ISG working remotely, you will….

  • Collaborate with computer vision, robotics, and machine learning project teams to deliver simulations to aid in algorithm development and testing.
  • Work on Unreal Gaming Engine simulations, Matlab Simulink/Simscape simulations, and python code to develop new simulations to support teams.
  • Collaborate on automated workflows to standardize our simulation pipeline using Git, Jenkins, AWS, and Azure Dev Ops.
  • Responsible for communicating and maintaining good documentation.

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in a STEM field: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, others may apply.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited college/university.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.
  • Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly.
  • Independent learner and problem solver.
  • Programming skills and experience with data analysis.
  • High School Graduate
  • Currently pursuing a STEM degree at an accredited college/university

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience using Matlab Simulink, Simscape, or Unreal Gaming Engine.
  • Programming skills in Python or C++.
  • Experience with robotics or CVML development or testing.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong people, relationship-building, and communication skills. Ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of teams and leaders
  • Able to commute to the work location in Urbandale, Iowa (depending on school location) occasionally for face to face team meetings.
