Job summary

Naugatuck Public Schools seeks a part-time Student and Family Engagement Specialist at Hillside Intermediate School. The role supports students and families, coordinates programs, and serves as a bridge between staff, parents and the community to improve attendance and academic engagement.

Responsibilities include outreach, program coordination, and providing information on school services, policies and procedures. Prior experience in schools and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
• Ability to respect confidentiality.
• Experience with restorative discipline models preferred.
• Spanish and Portuguese speaking preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between teachers, parents, students, staff and community.
• Provide outreach and guidance to resolve student issues in attendance, academics and behavior.
• Coordinate programs and services for students and families.
• Assist with family education workshops and materials.
• Refer families to school and community resources.
