The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student - DTC Project Engineer for JD Waterloo’s Drivetrain Operations located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

• Maintain and evolve existing TPM (Total Productive Manufacturing) tools and processes.
• Assist team in identifying issues and proposing resolutions.
• Gather, review, and analyze data.
• Support multiple departments in their daily functions.
• Produce a variety of correspondence and reports in support of department processes.
• Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.
• Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis.
• Work 12-20 hours/week during the academic year.
• Work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester.

This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

• Familiarity with Excel, data analysis, and PowerPoint.
• Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to learn new software and adapt quickly to using it.
• Ability to lead meetings upon direction and carry projects through to completion.
• Respectable communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to commute to Waterloo, IA on a daily basis year-round.
• Ideally pursuing a degree in Engineering or Technology; others may apply.
• Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university (e.g., Hawkeye, UNI, Wartburg).
• If attending a community college, must plan to pursue a 4-year degree.
• Graduation date of 5/27 or later.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
