Educating with Love, LLC in Orlando, FL seeks a Part-Time Structured Literacy/Orton-Gillingham Interventionist to deliver 1:1, explicit literacy instruction for students with dyslexia and reading difficulties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized 1:1 Structured Literacy/Orton-Gillingham intervention.
• Deliver explicit, systematic, sequential, cumulative, diagnostic, and multisensory literacy instruction.
• Provide targeted instruction in phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, encoding, syllable patterns, morphology, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Use student performance and error analysis to guide subsequent instruction.
• Maintain concise documentation of skills taught and student progress.
• Communicate professionally with Educating with Love regarding student progress.
• Create a positive, encouraging learning environment with high instructional expectations.
• Maintain reliable attendance for assigned students.

About Educating with Love

Educating with Love, LLC is a growing educational consulting and intervention practice serving students and families throughout the Orlando area. We specialize in individualized, evidence-based Structured Literacy intervention for students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.

As our student caseload continues to grow, we are seeking Florida-certified teachers with Orton-Gillingham training who are passionate about helping struggling readers develop the skills and confidence needed to become successful, independent readers.

This is a part-time, as-needed position. Student assignments will be offered as new families request services and will be matched based on the interventionist's availability and preferred service locations.

• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance for assigned students.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Copy of current Florida teaching certificate OR documentation of a previously held Florida Professional Educator Certificate due to retirement
• Formal Orton-Gillingham training with a certificate/certificate of completion.
• Knowledge of Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading.
• Experience teaching foundational reading skills.
• Experience working with struggling readers and/or students with dyslexia.
• Strong understanding of phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, and encoding instruction.
• Excellent communication, organization, reliability, and professionalism.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to provide in-person intervention at agreed-upon Orlando-area locations.
• Willingness to successfully complete required background screening/fingerprinting before independently providing services to students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Reading, Special Education, TESOL, or a related field.
• Orton-Gillingham practicum experience and/or advanced OG training.
• Reading endorsement or certification.
• Previous experience providing individualized dyslexia intervention.
• ESOL endorsement or experience supporting multilingual learners.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Service Locations

Interventionists must be willing to provide in-person services at one or more of the following locations:

Lake Nona • Winter Park library locations • Baldwin Park • Maitland

Additional Orlando-area locations may be offered by mutual agreement.

Interventionists will be matched with students based on geographic location, availability, and scheduling compatibility.

Schedule

This is a flexible, part-time/as-needed position.

Because students generally receive Structured Literacy intervention consistently throughout the week, preference will be given to candidates who can commit to recurring weekly student schedules.

Compensation

$45–$60 per instructional hour

Compensation will be determined based on professional experience, credentials, level of Orton-Gillingham/Structured Literacy training, and experience providing intervention to students with dyslexia.
