Job summary

Atlanta Classical Academy seeks a part-time Strings Instructor to teach string orchestra for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role includes two Upper School sections, three Lower School after‑school classes, and one 3rd grade survey semester. Lead rehearsals and performances in coordination with the Fine Arts Director.

The candidate will create a vibrant, classical music environment and foster student growth in technique, ensemble playing, and musical expression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or related field from an accredited college is required.
• Previous teaching experience in classical string instruction preferred.
• Strong proficiency in performance of a string instrument, with experience teaching group heterogeneous lessons.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with classical education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education.
• Provide high‑quality instruction in string instruments through group lessons.
• Develop students’ technical skills, musical expression, and ensemble playing abilities.
• Prepare students for performances, recitals, and school events as needed.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate music education with the broader classical curriculum.
• Maintain a structured, disciplined, and inspiring learning environment.
