Family Dollar in Lynchburg, VA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. This part-time role includes assisting with daily activities, maintaining merchandising, and supporting the Store Manager in supervision and training.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and adhere to safety policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms and floors.
