Job description

Enhance the ALDI customer shopping experience in a collaborative team environment as an ALDI Cashier or Stocker. As a member of our team, you will operate registers or other machinery, stock shelves, maintain store appearance, and serve customers. Start a job that offers new challenges each day.

Position Type: Part-Time
Average Hours: Less than 30 hours per week
Starting Wage: $18.50 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $19.00 | Year 3 - $19.50 | Year 4 - $19.50 | Year 5 - $20.50

Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

1. Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to the direct leader.
2. Uphold the security and confidentiality of documents and data within your responsibility area.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities include processing customer purchases, performing cleaning duties, stocking shelves, providing excellent customer service, giving feedback to management, participating in inventory counts, and adhering to cash policies.

Stocker Responsibilities:

1. Stock shelves and rotate products to ensure freshness.
2. Follow merchandising planograms for displays.
3. Organize new inventory and break down empty boxes.
4. Operate machinery safely following all safety procedures.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
• Stockers must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and place products at various heights.

Qualifications:

• You must be 18 years or older.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Perform cleaning duties to company standards.
• Interpret and apply company policies.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective time management.
• Knowledge of products and services.

Cashier-specific skills include operating registers accurately and complying with alcohol sale regulations. Stocker-specific skills include operating equipment like hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers, with availability for morning shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Equivalent knowledge through education and experience is acceptable.
