Sam Houston State University is seeking a Staff Laboratory Assistant II - Standardized Patient for part-time, hourly work in the Grand Central Park area of Conroe, TX. The role involves acting as a patient in clinical simulations to help nursing students practice data gathering and communication skills, and to evaluate student performance.

The position is non-benefits eligible, with hours and days set by faculty needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least three years of related work experience.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and adapt to a modified schedule.
• Familiar with common laboratory equipment and instructional/research curriculum.
• Must maintain confidentiality of information related to cases, student behaviors, and feedback evaluations.

Responsabilités

• Memorize scripts detailing emotions, behaviors, and disease signs/symptoms for simulations.
• Present memorized case information in a standardized manner as elicited by students.
• Portray role consistently and accurately as trained by supervisors.
• Interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
• Provide honest written and/or verbal feedback to students when needed.
• Monitor other Standardized Patients for quality assurance and report inconsistencies.
