Job summary

Grand Canyon University in Phoenix is seeking part-time Standardized Patients to support nursing and health professions education. SPs portray patient scenarios, provide feedback, and help student practitioners develop clinical and interpersonal skills under faculty supervision.

Responsibilities include accurate portrayal of scenarios, delivering written and verbal feedback, adapting to case variations, and maintaining punctual, reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Flexible schedule, some evenings may be required.
• Must be able to travel to scheduled facility reliably.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must pass a pre-health physical exam.
• Provide a positive example by supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission.

Responsibilities

• Portray all aspects of the patient scenario, including history, affect/behavior and physical findings.
• Provide written and face-to-face verbal feedback to supervising faculty.
• Accept ongoing feedback and incorporate that feedback into case simulation.
• Respond to emails in a timely fashion.
• Be on time and keep scheduled appointments.
• Other duties as assigned.
