Job Title: Part-Time Sports Talk Show Host

Department: Programming

Reporting To: Brand Manager

Employment Type: Part-Time

Pay Transparency: $20.00/Hr. - $50.00/Hr.

Location(s): Washington, D.C.

Work Arrangement: On-Site

The anticipated starting salary range for Washington, D.C.-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $20.00/Hr and $25.00/Hr.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Overview:

Washington, DC’s 106.7 The Fan (WJFK-FM) and Team 980 (WTEM) are looking for their next on-air host. If you are a talented on-air host that knows the DC sports market, has strong opinions you can back up, is dependable, has a drive to succeed and knowledge of the current digital scene – we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

  • Host shows live from the studio, including breaking news and special coverage
  • Do live or recorded sports news updates
  • Be an ambassador for the DC sports scene
  • Be active on digital platforms (video, social media, etc.)
  • Collaborate with a sales staff regarding endorsements and content ideas
  • Make on-site appearances representing the 106.7 The Fan and Team 980 brands

Required & Preferred:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in sports radio or sports media
  • Must have experience in the Washington, DC media market
  • Must have an understanding of Washington, DC sports
  • Experience with and an understanding of social media and evolving digital landscape
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours
  • Willingness to experiment and innovate
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
