Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) required.
• Current licensure from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
• CFY supervision available for those with no experience.
• ASHA CCC is desirable.
• Special aptitudes include tact, understanding and compassion and ability to communicate well with other professionals, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, evaluates, and conducts habilitative and rehabilitative programs to treat speech, language and/or swallowing disorders.
• Prepares written reports of diagnostic findings, intervention techniques used, progress and follow-up.
• Develops treatment plans and supervises patients and caregivers per plan.
• Communicates with patients, family, providers and nursing staff.
• Assists with discharge planning and home therapy programs.
• Completes required documentation and maintains department records.
