Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking a PT Coach for Special Olympics to coach teams and help students develop related skills. The role emphasizes positive leadership, clear communication, and mentoring students to excel on the field and academically.

Responsibilities include leading practices, recruiting student athletes to attend LSC, and traveling to events as needed. A high school diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and communication to promote a positive team attitude.
• Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority, and workload demands.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to travel to practices, games, and tournaments.
• Must be able to mentor students and demonstrate how to be an effective coach.

Responsibilities

• Provides positive leadership with strong communication skills
• Actively participates in practices to train on sport skills
• Encourages student athletes to succeed on the field and academically and to work hard, to graduate, and to never stop learning
• Comparies how discipline on the field relates to real life decisions and why it is important to remain positive and focused
• Recruit student athletes to attend LSC and work effectively with the diverse student population while inspiring them to continue their education
• Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
