Job summary

South Pointe Scholars Charter Academy in Ypsilanti, MI is seeking a Special Education Occupational Therapist for a part-time role (4 hours per week). The therapist will provide direct and indirect OT services aligned with IEPs and 504 plans, and collaborate with the school team to support student goals.

Qualifications

• Valid state Occupational Therapy licensure.
• OT license issued by the Licenses and Regular Affairs.
• School-based or pediatric OT experience preferred.
• Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services in accordance with students’ IEPs and Section 504 plans.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of fine motor, visual-motor & visual-perception, sensory processing and regulation, motor coordination and planning, and functional skills.
• Participate in IEP and 504 processes, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, progress monitoring, and service planning.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust OT interventions aligned to student goals.
• Collaborate as a member of the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated and student-centered services.
• Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and stakeholders regarding students’ skill development.
• Work with classroom teachers to integrate OT strategies into daily activities.
