Job summary

Under general supervision, assist a variety of instructional assessment activities and student learning for children with special needs. This position also involves clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.

Position is 6.5 hours per day (Job Grade 107 for 4.5 hrs and Job Grade 106Student Monitor 2 hrs/day). Starting date as early as September 8, 2026, for the 2026/27 school year.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for working with special students.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board deems appropriate

Responsibilities

• Maintains cooperative relationships with staff, students and the public.
• Assists instructor to prepare classroom activities and materials.
• Helps students learn under direction of a certified instructor and using prepared materials.
• Supervises tests and records grades as needed.
• Maintains attendance and instructional data for assigned students.
