Job summary

The role involves assisting with personal care, mobility, behavior support, and supervision across multiple school settings, with responsibilities including record-keeping and collaboration with staff to ensure a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of special education practices.
• Ability to maintain files and information.
• Skills in operating classroom and instructional equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers and implement tasks to support instructional and behavioral goals.
• Work with individuals, small groups, or whole classes as assigned.
• Assist with behavior modification as directed by teachers.
• Lift, move, and operate adaptive equipment.
• Assist with personal care tasks for students, including toileting and hygiene.
• Escort students within the school as needed.
• Assist students with mobility during transport around school and on field trips.
• Monitor students for safety in various school settings.
• Provide programmed practice activities as developed by teachers or therapists.
• Report student concerns promptly to teachers and help resolve them.
• Assist with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and cleanup.
• Maintain records and files.
• Perform related work as required.
