Job summary

Oregon Coast Community College is seeking a Part-time Spanish Instructor to teach First-Year Spanish II (4 credits) for the Winter Term 2027. The position is exempt PT faculty in Academic Affairs, reporting to the Dean of Academic Pathways & CTE.

Courses will be offered Face to Face for the 2027 Winter Term, starting January 4, 2027. Responsibilities include delivering instruction, preparing materials, meeting all classes, and aligning with college teaching values, while supporting student

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Spanish or equivalent required.
• Alternative: Master’s in related field with graduate Spanish coursework (9 qtr hrs/6 sem hrs).
• Alternative: Master’s in any subject with bachelor in the subject plus 9 qtr hrs/6 sem hrs in Spanish (to be approved to teach).
• Competency can be shown via 2+ of: academic study, teaching experience, training, or related professional activity.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students using approved course outcomes and syllabi.
• Prepare instructional materials as needed.
• Meet all assigned classes.
• Meet curricular needs of students at various learning levels.
• Assess student progress and outcomes; maintain records.
• Engage in professional development and college activities as invited.

Education

Master’s degree in Spanish

Master’s degree in related areas (education, linguistics, humanities, etc.) with 9 quarter hours/6 sem hours in Spanish

Master’s degree in any subject with a bachelor in the subject and 9 quarter hours/6 sem hours in Spanish (approved to teach)

Demonstrate competency through a combination of at least 2: academic study, 2 years of teaching, training, professional performance
