Job summary

SOSi is seeking Spanish Linguists in Las Cruces, NM to support our federal law enforcement customer. The Spanish Analytic Linguist will provide operational support for linguist and translator duties, including live monitoring, translation, transcription, and interpretation. These assignments may require night and weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a self-starter, able to handle short-notice assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum translation experience in target language.
• English proficiency demonstrated by testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor live communications and provide verbal summaries and written translations.
• Transcribe audio/video and written materials to English.
• Interpret sequentially or simultaneously as required.
• Provide accurate summaries for law enforcement.
