Job summary

Hawkeye Community College's Athletics program is looking for a part-time Assistant Softball Coach to join their team from September through May (approximately 32 weeks). As our Assistant Softball Coach, you will assist with the supervision and coaching of practices and competitions for the softball program.

This position aids in directing practices, managing practice and travel schedules, as well as, supervising team conduct during competition, travel, tournaments, and other events where the

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years coaching and/or competing in softball.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
• Must have a valid Iowa driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to travel.
• Strong interpersonal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and video conferencing technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision and instruction of all softball practices and competitions.
• Assist in administrative operations including scheduling and team travel.
• Promote positive public relations for the softball program.
• Provide first aid in emergencies and maintain safety procedures.
• Set up, tear down, and store equipment.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Softball Coach or administration.
• Maintain regular on-campus/on-site attendance as required.
