Job summary

Georgia State University is seeking part-time Sociology instructors for Perimeter College. Instructors will teach 1–2 sections per term, primarily Intro to Sociology or Intro to Social Problems, across multiple campuses with online options as certified.

Applicants must hold a Master's in Sociology with at least 18 graduate hours and demonstrate strong instructional technology and communication skills to support student learning and engagement.

Qualifications

• College-level teaching experience is required.
• Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours (27 quarter hours) in sociology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach 1 to 2 sections of Intro to Sociology or Intro to Social Problems per term, as needed; courses will be on multiple campuses, with online options after certification.
• Create syllabi, assignments and tests, class activities, lectures, etc.
• Communicate with students outside class via email, phone, and office hours (in-person or virtual).
• Use the LMS to post syllabi, grades, and information.
• Perform required record-keeping (roll, progress grades, final grades).
• Coordinate teaching schedules and student issues with the department Chair and staff.
