Job summary

Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) seeks part-time instructors to support its sociology courses, advancing student success and graduation goals. Instructors collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to improve the student learning experience.

Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis with varying hours by term. Instructors prepare and assess coursework, maintain records, and use technology-based tools to manage student information.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in sociology or related field as required.
• Two semesters of college instructional experience in sociology or completed teacher training.
• Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in assigned courses.
• Create a quality learning environment for a diverse student population.
• Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes.
• Utilize technology-based programs to access/input student records and processes.
• Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
• Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.
• Attend in-service sessions and college/department meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
